    Hello irritatedbeyondbelief, please download hddhealth

Once downloaded and installed, open it and click on the system tab. On the right side it will show you your system temperature, if it's anywhere near the red zone, it's probably overheating.

If it's not near the red zone, the problem probably isn't overheating, and we will consider trying something else...

    Hi

Check in Event Viewer in the Software or System lists for an error message at the time of a game crash as it may hold the clue as to what failed.

Yes any onscreen error messages in full will help.

Woudl need to know other system temps from when your playing the game, in Speedfan and what is CPU and System temps when not playing the game and when playing the game?

Also as your using a laptop, what surface is it on, if its your lap or a surface that will block the cooling vents then temp maybe the issue.

For xp users: Click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management.

On the left hand pane select event viewer; On the right, it will contain the error logs.

For vista users: Click start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer.*

*note: you may be prompted for an administrative password or confirmation to access event viewer.

    Hello irritatedbeyondbelief,

The error seems to be caused by a problem with igxpdx32.dll which is part of the intel video driver pack.

    Please reinstall the driver i.e

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Before the windows logo tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows Advanced Options menu.
    3. Select the option Safe Mode with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
    5. Once in safe mode browse to Start -> Control Panel -> System (vista users click system and maintenance -> device manager). Xp users select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager. Once in device manager locate your intel video driver pack, right click on it and select uninstall. Now restart your system and boot into normal mode. You will be prompted to install the driver. Do so, and see if that fixes the problem. If you would like to, you can use intel's driver update utility to scan your computer for the latest intel drivers.
