Is it possible to overclock my dell inspiron notebook 1150 series. Pentium IV 2.66 Ghz processor, intel motherboard I pressume, really don't know how to check it in this, and 512mb of ram, it won't matter though.

Well, over clocking a Laptop is possible, but it is more complex because of the size of the processor and the fact you'll have to put an extra fan on to prevent over heating, and that'll be harder on a laptop

Having said that you'd better be careful if you do try, since you really only get a 10% boost, so you'd get an extra 266MHz, anymore and and your laptop'll probably fry.

If you try it, good luck.

Thanks nightlord, you're right, i figured it was probably too fragile, and i really don't feel like getting another fan put in it, it's fast enough, not like i video edit or anything.

Actually since it's a dell, I don't think you'd be able to get into the BIOS and change the FSB speed anyway. :) Not to mention, it's probably not worth the effort.

Actually your wrong if your saying you can overclock a dell laptop :) The bios is more like a list page and very basic things can only be changed; which doesnt include clock;voltage;bus;ram speed; etc

Actually you're wrong omega merc, i said nothing about overclocking to him on the reply, just the BIOS, i didn't say anythign about changing FSB. I know that, the bios is not very useful at all for a notebook. Just wanted to let you know, YOU'RE wrong! omegaman

Actually, you're wrong, AntiRIAA, I never said you couldn't enter the BIOS. I said, "Actually since it's a dell, I don't think you'd be able to get into the BIOS and change the FSB speed..." Reading comprehension please.

Just a bit of advice, you'll get more help by not acting like an a-hole.
