overclocking amd query

    ok i have an athlon 2100 xp and a compaq mobo with an nvidea chipset. there are no oc options in my bois (compaq has a very poor bios info system ive been told) and i would like to oc my amd. thing is i hear they run hot without being oc'd. should i try this and if so, how please?

    this should really be in the overclocking board

    so far as I know ... compaq, dell, etc don't put ocing features in their BIOS

    i would read this and explore some of the links there:

    personally, i would concern yourself more with optimizing your system before you overclock
