i have read loads and im ready to overclock now, i understand nearly everything.
    1. i understand that by increasing my fsb it will affect the whole system, how do i know that my ram, graphics mobo aint gonna fry or blow up?

    2. is there a way of checking the temp of the ram/ gfx/ect? or dont you have to like u do with the cpu

    3. roughly how much should i increase the fsb each tym i overclock it, also same with the voltage?

    4. i am ware that i have 2 sticks of sd ram (256mb) but how do i know the clock speed of it ?

    specs

    mobo: jetway 830cf/ch
    cpu:amd athlon xp 1800(clock 1533)
    ram: 2x sd 256mb
    gfx:g-force 4, 440 with agp x8

u say that my memory and my video car will hold me back from my overclock,
i forgto to mention that my vid card is a g-force 4, 440 with agp x8(128mb), does the 128mb that i forgot to mention still hold my overclock back?

also how do i know wether or not my mobo support ddr ?

The memory might hold you back from a decent overclock because if your ram is already running at its rated speed, anything over that is really luck of the draw.Bios options for VDimm may or may not be available on your motherboard so giving the ram more voltage for stability at higher speeds might be out of the question. Your video card will not give you problems unless the pci bus gets way out of spec because I'm pretty sure your motherboard doesnt have a pci lock.
Good luck and try upping the fsb by 5mhz at a time. When the pc becomes unstable bring it back down untill it is stable. You might want to find the cmos jumper and get used to using it because if the pc doesnt boot at the new speeds you will have to clear the cmos to reset the default bios settings.
