Overclocking ATI 9800 Pro 128MB PROBLEMS!!!

OK,
My knowledge on overclocking is as follows: You change the video card settings, run the risk of blowing your card up, and maybe, just maybe, you make it run more efficiently

I have no idea how to do this. Do I need to download a progrom to overclock my ATI Radeon Pro 128MB? How do I overclock! On the 3dmark05 test I scored a 1984 (win xp 2.4 GHz 256 MB ram ATI radeaon pro 128mb) and I think if I overclock my card a bit, I may improve the score.

Can someone be so kind to help this newb with his video card? Just a quick reply will be enough!

Hercules offer 3DTweeker that works pretty well

 

Powerstrip is a good program to use. When overclocking don't just boost the clock speed up 200mhz from the beginning. Go in increments of 5-10mhz testing after each increase to check for stability.

 

ATi Tool is a very good program
With stock cooling you'l problably get 420/375 or around that area.

He's asking questions & readily admits he don't know squat about overclocking & you send him to Flash the BIOS. ~shivers~

Don't worry about flashing the card man. You stand a much larger chance of rendering the card useless when you do this. Cram some more System Memory in there & overclock the vid card a bit, but like already stated.....take it up slow.
