Overclocking CPU

I recently came into posession of a computer through work. It is exactly what you'd expect it to be, all OEM parts. I am interested in getting a little more performance out of the machine, but after a little research on the mobo I found that the BIOS is completely locked down and I cannot overclock through this method (to my knowledge). Now I am searching for any software that might enable me to overclock but so far I've come up empty.

What proccesor are you using?

 

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs) 3.0 GHz

 

That processor does not seem like a bad processor speed wise, dual core 3.0ghz is pretty decent IMO.

What is it exactly you want to see an increase in speed from? Games? Applications?

 

Honestly, I'm doing it just to see if it is possible. There are a few applications I would see a performance boost out of overclocking but that isn't a primary goal.
