well i thought u said u found the program to show the mother board...
and about the overclocking... overclocking a laptop is bad mojo because there is hardly any cooling  and another reason... dells are HORRIBLE for overclocking... even the pcs.. so i must think theyre laptops are even worse... the only thing i could think of is trying to find the pll chip ( the chip that controls the fsb)... youd probably have to take your laptop to do that though.. the pll chip is usually arund 20 pins... then run a program called softfsb.. i dunno the site.. youll have to do a google search.. good luck.. and dont overclock her too much ;) :p

    cheers

Eric Please be very carefull what you do,,I do NOT OVERCLOCK my P4 notebook,,,just run the processor 100% 24/7...so I am just taking procautions with the heat to cool the system down to extend chip life,,,HEAT KILLS keep in mind I have a NEW laptop with adiquate cooling 2 big intake fans and copper/alunimum heat fins !!!!,,,mine is a EXTRA MEASURE to reduce heat, Glenn

Now here is the link to that software softfsb

thanks anyway glenn. i'll try to find it. i am trying to solve the problem with my laptop freezing up, i think if i overclock it, it will be able to run xp home, but we'll find out. anyway so how do you run your p4 at full all the time? is it you folding plus using it for normal use? i have never been able to use even 50% of the processor for more than 5 minutes. anyway sorry for the dribble.

Eric whats your system specks ???

I disabled Hyper-Threading in BIOS to have ability to run full processor speed on one major core program,,Yes Running Stanford Folding at Home 24/7 ,,,still plenty of resorces for websurfing etc,,,,If I need a day of multitasking I enable Hyper-Thread and dedicate 50% of my processor to the folding cause,,,,The P4 2.8mhz HT has 2 logical brains,,,and have the ability to join them,,..also in preferances of your folding console you can adjust the amout of processor to dedicate so you can advance your processor settings to 100% also draw rate full..right click on the fancy screen you will get your options,,,Glenn

    system specs on the laptop:
    p3 500mhz
    333 fsb
    256mb
    20gigHdd

thats all i remember but i am dropping the OS to win 98  right now because i am tired of it freezing, which i have discovered is caused by trying to run XP home when it just cant run it.

I have Dell Laptop CPX H500GT, P3, 256mb sdram with my laptop to run xp necessary to upgrade bios to version A.14.
There are 14 versions, only the last and final one (A.14)supports XP.

    No freeze up here.
I did have a problem with some keyoard keys not fuctioning, also seemed to run hot and had some wierd fan noise, I took it apart did some cleaning.
Now all the keys work, got rid of fan noise and even runs cooler now.
