Overclocking tools

Are there any cheap overclocking tools out there that will help speed my system and keep it stable or is this a trail and error thing?

 

Best thing is is to have a logical plan of attack, just to go willy nilly can fry your mobo. I'd first see how your machine behaves at full load using OCCT. What mobo/CPU/GPU do you have?

 

BTW, if you have a pre-built machine like Dell then your chances for overclocking are greatly reduced if not impossible, depends on if you can change your front side bus in BIOS ..

 

I don't know what all is in this thing I have 4 sticks of memory, a green MOBO, Intel cpu, and 2 video cards with fans.

 

I know that every time I try to do something it mess's.
