Ok ive got an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard and when i went to the multiplier in my BIOS, my setting is 11.5x standard... So if i up it to 12.0x would it go faster or slower? or do i need to go to 11x to go faster?

This should have been posted in the overclocking section, but dony worry about it.

I dont think you will be able to change your multiplier. All newer cpus are locked to prevent that. To overclock your cpu you can change your FSB. That is probably your only option. Make sure you do some reading up on the subject.

yeah make sure you read all the steps and make sure that you knwo what you are doing when you are overclocking.

First of all, when you overclock you void any warranties that you may have with your manufacturer, so if you just bought your computer from like Dell or something, they won't help you.

Second of all, when you overclock you better damn well be sure that you have a kick ass cooling system. I'm talking about multiple fans. This is crucial because your computer is probably already running at 100F+ so when you overclock and run things beyond what they are supposed to be capable of it will heat up quickly. If you get to hot, you can fry your processor and other things.

Third, make sure you know what you are tinkering with in the BIOS because if you touch something you aren't supposed to be touching or mess with something-something could go terribly and fatally wrong.

So I hope that you understand what I am getting to. Always make sure that if you are overclocking, you are doing it for a reason and are desperate for more speed because mainly only the people that need to overclock are the hardcore users such as demanding games. If you do decide after reading this that you are still going to overclock, make sure that you know how to. Read every manual and tutorial on line on how to overclock because its worth it. I dont mean to sound harsh or anything but overclocking is a serious serious matter and should be though over a couple times. make sure you really are sure of what you are doing.

ew, i dont even want to think about that. and it wouldn't slice you since the blades aren't thin, there just big in general. This means it would brutally and fatally hit you in the head (evidently causing head and body parts to go everywhere from the force).

were not spamming, were just talking, its takin up like three posts. and besides, the problem has already been fixed. we gave him his links and information. if he needs more information or help he knows he can come right back and ask us for help. in the meantime were just doing something to pass the time. if you had read earlier i had posted a comment to the picture he posted. then he posted a response to that, and i once more. its not much so its not spamming.

a few times here and there is ok.. but they do it all the time.. stay on topic in the non-lounge threads please. It clutters the thread when you talk about non-related things.
