Overenthusiastic Spybot?

Been running Spybot for a while now, keep updated and immunized, and generally have no complaints, but lately it has been warning me of "Avenue A" EVERYWHERE! Hotmail, Google, Amazon..practically every site I look at. My question - if I choose the "don't block" download option, is my machine going to be infested with spyware? Presuambly I could just pick it up with Ad-Aware, but that seems a bit counter productive to me. Any suggestions?

    Using XP Home.

Go to immunize page and on the bottom you have choices. choose "block silently"

Interesting. I've never hit the Install button for the "Bad Download Protection for IE", so I've never HAD that protection, much less had to make it "Block all Bad Pages Silently". I have no idea what it stops that I might try to download, but I've never yet had a problem with my hundreds and hundreds of downloads.

But on another forum, I called the attention of the readers to the fact that that part of the Immunize panel was there, but OFF THE SCREEN in the default, non-maximized panel display of Spybot, and many people said they'd never SEEN those controls before. If you have Spyware Blaster installed, a link to that program shows under the Immunize buttons, and that looks exactly like the end (bottom) of the panel, even though there's a scrollbar over on the right in plain view.

I betcha lots of people here have never seen the bottom half of the Immunize panel, either.

'Course I might be wrong. I was wrong once before.

Well wiz, I've got SpywareBlaster installed so as Spybot says, it does a better job. I haven't had any popups from S&D due to this

Checkout SpywareBlaster's block file. It stops most of the drive-by installers and spyware such a s Xupiter, lop, gator etc. It currently stops 975 items and is regularly updated. Saved me upfront instead of having to clean up the mess afterward.

    EDIT: spelling

Don't worry about it, Augie. We're pretty good around here at reading Sanskrit spelling and Hieroglyphics spelling, and that sort of thing.
I can even make out Kodo's posts now, after only a few months of practice.
    :D :D :D
