Overlord.....

ive been playing Overlord for the pc, its a lil choppy so i went into the configurations, i turned off a few things like soil detail, water reflections, and shadows....technically shouldnt that speed the game up a lil or atleast help? it made it twice as choppy...im already at the lowest res, and on low detail....why would turning off shadows and such slow it down even more?

pentium 4 HT 3.0 gig fsb 199.66
1 gig of ram
g-force 5500
sound blaster audio
overclocking video card w/ RivaTuner
overclocking PC w/ Clockgen ( 3.6 gig fsb 240.23)
using game accelerator pro on hyper gaming mode

 

no it wont the fx 5500 is 2 slow even if you over clock it drop the resolution to to 800x600 or lower if that don't help there is not much you can do
and those game accelerators are useless

 

rjc862003 is correct, that vid card is the problem. Nvidia FX series are horrible for gaming.
