here is an interesting problem. I have been using pcenywhere by symantec for years and just recently i found an interesting clitch.I have it set up to start the host with windows(xp home) and a few weeks ago i noticed i was getting an error message Unable to start host but the host was started. After a little investigation i found it was trying to start the same host twice at boot up.I have checked the services to see if there was a double entry ans there is not.Everywhere i have checked i only see it showing once, but it still trys to start to hosts? Short of reinstalling the whole program is there a way to fix this issue?

if you're using XP pro, you don't need pc anywhere..it has a built in Remote Desktop.
Interested in finding out about it?

I use xp home but i chose pc anywhere so i can access My computer from work where we run anything from Win 95,98,xp, and i also run vnc so i can connect from our Linux serveres. You guys no how it is most of the best programs are not where you need them but in a pinch you always have them at home. The pc anywhere prog still works it just bugs when you get the message that it can't start the host when you know damn well it works'

When using Linux you can am using both, i like pc anywhere for file transfers and vnc for playing with my linux servers. The file transfer is more secure from pc anywhere if you set your security's right and our firewall is also pretty tight

Its basically a simple way to connect one XP pc to another. The only bad thing I saw when I used it is when you connect to the "slave" pc, it locks the computer, and when I was done, the computer stays locked, causing the user to have to log back into the computer (I used it over our network). I would have rather it go back to its current state, but it was no hassle.

I haven't gone through it, but here is a how-to guide:
