P2P compatibility problem with WRT54GS router

I can't use any P2P programs (BitComet), due to my router not being compatible with P2P.

On the BitComet help forum, it has some fixes listed, but apparently they could be harmful to my router. Can someone clarify this fix for me?

You can't connect and use it at all, or it acts up on you?

If you can't connect, have you considered trying another app for bit torrent?

If you connect and it gives problems, try limiting up and downloads in numbers and in bandwidth. Most apps have that option. If you overwhelm your bandwidth, you can crash it.

Some people like Thibor11 (google) for router control rather than the factory stuff. Is that what has you worried?
