alright well im not sure if this belongs here. but whatever..

So i got limewire and im running at about 30Kb/s average for video downloads.. it can go to as high as 70Kb/s or as low as 9Kb/s for a video.. Anyway i was wondering what can i do to increase my KB/s?? Ill do anything just name speed tweaks , network tweaks.. anything to enhance kb/s download speed.

 

No there is nothing you can do. You get what other people give you and that is it.

Yes you can forward ports but limewire just uses one port and if he's getting speeds of 70KB/sec then his ports are already working just fine.

 

unless he has a really fast connection. I know peeps that get around 300kbps on limewire... oh well

 

Well of course, but the port forwarding has nothign to do with it. It's just if you try to get a file that a lot of people have and the speed is there. His ports are already working.

It all depends what you grab. If you grab something insanly popular it will most likely have more people sharing it, thus you get faster speeds.

 

Port forwarding won't increase speeds.

As already stated, it depends on who/m you are downloading from as to what speed you will get.

If you are sure your connection is working at full speed, then there really isn't a lot you can do apart from looking for the file elsewhere, like on Bit Torrent for example.

 

*random Post but i was just downloading stuff for limewire and i got freakin 142kb/s!! .. i usually average around 20-40
