I have to laugh at some posts.. apparently these p2p programs are easy to use, but no one tells these folks what to do afterwards. Examples:
What are RARs? (a popular zip method for p2p'ers I hear)
What do I do with.... ISO, Bin, Cue, MDF, IMG, and so on...
These people can steal stuff and not understand how to use it.. laughable.
I guess what bugs me is they want it all and they want it easy.. they don't pay for it and don't 'work' for it.. they get it and run to a forum and ask how to implement it..
I assume (i know) these are p2p'ers cause no software I ever purchased came in RAR or ISO.
For the most part I learned by myself and if I had a question, google or yahoo was the way to go, until I found this forum.. but these people don't want to do any 'work' to find an answer..

For the most part you are right, however--

I use rar compression because its better than zip.
ISOs can be from legit sources too (Linux, MSDN), but not usually :)

Yeah, I would also remove rar questions from that, I use rar instead of winzip, so much nicer to use, and I sometimes have to tech my friends how to open a rar file with photos I've taken or something...

And a LOT of stuff you can download legally comes in rar format! :)

aw c'mon guys, let foogoo have his rant, at least he admitted it was a rant :) :)
He was right though, you guys use RAR & ISO so you know what you are doing, I think he was complaining about people who don't want to put out the effort to learn & look for the easy answer, and those are most often the freeloaders ;)

I myself have never gotten anything in the rar format.. digital river (for example) usually gives you the exe or a zip. But *most* laypeople are whom I am talkin about, they have no idea what rar's are.. but the questions usually include the statement
"I just downloaded this (fill in the blank) what do I do next?"
If you want a format that is better than zip, 7zip is supposed to be the best for overall compression.

    It must be Monday morning...lol.

Just if you want to steal use some initiative...

    And I am spent

freeloaders, people who expect to be spoonfed. They don't know how to research. Annoying. They are the whole reason that FAQs exist. But of course, they never read them so.....

Why keep reinventing the wheel? Our whole society is based on FAQs, we learn from those that came before us and build upon this base of knowledge.
