p3 650 ati128 rage pro problems

Hi All,

I got a p-3 650 Dell for my son, mainly for playing games. It's got an ATI 128 Rage pro card on it, but even with the drivers loaded from ATI, the card "fails to initialize" and the computer goes into a startup loop where as soon as the windows startup loads, the fail message appears, then the computer restarts, and on and on........
The computer only has 16 colors showing in the properties. Any ideas?

What OS? What type of Mobo?

You sure you got the right drivers? What happens when you try loading the drivers?

 

Win 2000 pro, I'll look at mobo tomorrow.
