P4 2.2ghz northwood operating temp

    What is normal operating temp? THanks.

    I dont believ there is a normal temp.
    But i would recommend 30-40C.

    ok, and what would that be in Fahrenheit? THanks.

    no .. that is celsius .. translated to 86-104 fahrenheit

    ok that would be normal then. Anyone have a clue why my computer randomly shuts itself down? I am running an via motherboard with the apollo chipset PE-11L.

    try memtest http://majorgeeks.com/download4226.html

    put it on a floppy and boot the system with it

    leave it on for awhile ... like goto the store, take a nap, watch TV or something while it is running .. ive heard 6(?) passes through all tests is enough but im not 100% certain .. if there are errors your RAM maybe at fault and may need replacing .. if there is a fault try using one stick at a time to determine which stick is bad

    have you run an anti-virus? im tending to doubt that but it never hurts to check
