P4S8X-X memory module sizes??

I have a 2400ghz P4 with this motherboard and wish to upgrade my memory.

If I have 3 slots available on the mb, and have 2 512's can I add a 1 gb or should I stay the same size? (either another 512 or 3-1gb's)

If I go with 3-1gb's can I sell my two 512's for ? (appox)

 

you can put anything in the 3rd slot, permitting your mobo supports it.

only thing you must not do is put memory of a different speed to that which is already installed.

 

So I should stick with the same size in each slot and not put in a 1 gb with the two exisiting 512's?

 

What speed is the RAM you have right now? Is it 2100, 2700, 3200?

You could put a gig in your 3rd slot and have 2 gigs of RAM, but it must be the same speed otherwise it can cause problems.

 

I have a 2700 512 and a 3200 512 and it seems to run a lot faster editing digital images but I'd like to maximize the memory----what might be a good strategy for doing so??

 

The thing with having a 2700 and 3200 is your stick of 3200 will run at 2700 speeds.

I would get another 1gb stick of pc2700.
