P5KPL-CM audio problem!

Hey,

I am having a problem with my audio, where my front two speakers and bass are working, but back left + right and center speakers are working during movies/music. I have checked through VIA HD Audio Deck and all speakers are working fine during the test, its just during movies/music that only front two speakers + bass work. Before i upgraded my computer speakers worked fine for all music/movies.

I have Windows Xp, a P5KPL-CM motherboard, using VIA HD Audio Deck which is updated. I have updated the VIA HD Audio codec driver, but after updating i get a "1628 error: Failed to complete installation". However it does say that the driver is updated.

I am not sure on what else i need to be doing to try and fix this problem, any help appreciated

do those drivers include the UAA codec?

what player are you using? try VLC

I'm not positive about the UAA codec, i tried just looking up the updates and i couldn't find UAA anywhere so maybe not?

I have seen the KB888111 driver in many other forums relating to audio problems. I have SP3 and which i think automatically installed the KB888111 driver for me (i found it in my add/remove programs list). I tried to see if i can get a hotfix but i dont think there is a hotfix for Windows XP (SP3).

I use Itunes as my main media player, but do have winamp/ quicktime player/ windows media player: all have the same results though. And i just tried VLC but didnt work
