Thanks for looking, the problem is with a relatively new computer I am using which is a packard bell laptop, it must be something to do with the settings as I cannot log into ebay, everytime I click the 'sign in' link it goes to the page not found error, the same happens when trying to log into facebook, or a secure setting, very annoying as I am trying to apply for a job which requires applying over a secure setting/logging into an agency.

I have tried lowering the internet security, and cleared all cookies/history and did an adawre search and clear to no avail, I am sure it must be a security setting that needs changing,

The system is Windows XP for your information

    Thanks for any advice,
    THFC

Which version of Ad-Aware do you have?

Thanks for your time, I have the personal edition 2007, and it is up to date as I downloaded it the other day from their site.

    Thanks again,

OK. This is the "free" version, correct? Just want to make sure you don't have ADAware Plus that includes a feature called AdWatch that can cause this.

I would try temporarily disabling my anti-virus/firewall and any pop-up/spam blockers and see if you can access the page(s).

Steve, yes this is the personal edition but I do, for some reason, have the Ad-Watch there too! I will try out the advice you gave and report back soon,

Steve, the advice did not change the situation, so it must be the Ad Aware doing this, thanks again,

Well, I'm not so sure. Just try disabling any kind of security software one by one and see if that is causing the problem.

Hi Steve, I did what you said but still no luck, I went a step further and uninstalled the Adaware but not effect. It seems to happen when going into a secure page to log in.

    Thanks again,
    Matt
