page fault in non paged area

have just installed a new sata hard drive, re-installed windows on the new drive O.K. Installed all the relevant drivers O.K. installed xp service pack 2 and now the pc crashes as windows loads with this message page fault in nonpaged area

all was working fine until service pack 2 was installed

the system works ok off an IDE drive with all the above including service pack 2.

my system is as follows
mother board Asus K8V SE
Procesor AMD Athlon 64 XP3400
Ram 512 DDR 3200
graphics card MSI NVIDIA Geforce Fx 5900
OS Windows XP PRO

 

What driver versions are you using for motherboard-chipset and graphics-card ? (Have experience instability with certain nvidia drivers)
