OK, This Dell is giving the blue screen of death Page Fault errors and I have been at an end any help is greatly appreciated.

Receiving Stop: 0x00000050 (0xE135D000,0x00000000,0x8056B964,0x00000001) and similar errors where the addy 0xE1... changes.

No other error is given such as a driver or file that caused the fault.

    I have checked:
System memory (512MB, also re-seated), scandisk, defrag, spy bot, ad-aware, sfc /scannow, McAfee and AVG scans.

I do however have an oddity that is also present. In Computer Management, Disk Management the erro Snap-in failed to initialize occures. I have verified the dll is not corrupt and re-registered it in the registry, however the snap-in error still occurs. Dunno if the the two are related.

    Again, any help is appreciated.

    Regards,
    Basementman

Actually replaced the memory, and right now the windows security center is telling me that I have no anti-virus software turned on.

BTW this is a Win2K SP2 Home OS.

    Thanks.

Basically, a 0x50 error is generated when a call is made to currently unallocated system memory. It can be caused by defective hardware, anti-virus, remote control software or faulty memory. Note that memory is not limited to RAM only. Video RAM or your processor's L2 cache can also be broken and cause the error. You should consider running memtest86 to test the L2 cache.
If you installed or upgraded any hardware or software lately, try to remove it again.

As for your second problem, try these two links (you've probably already tried the first one)
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305831

Thanks for the input! I'll give the memtest86 a go. Excellent point about the L2 cache (forgot about the cpu architechture). Yes I did the kb/305831 so I'll see if the next article is applicable.
I will also uninstall the anti-virus software although it says its disabled and root around for another vid card.

    Stay Tuned...

OK, so I ran the memtest86 2 passes walltime approx 2hours and it ran with no errors. I also uninstalled the McAfee virus software and installed avg free just to be protected. I can make the problem occur now when I run spy-bot. Spy bot picks up one error: microsoft.windowssecuritycenter.antiviursoverride
    hkey_local_machine\software\micorsoft\securitycenter\antivirus
this error displays then after a minute or so I get the blue screen with the 50 error. So I dont get to correct the issue. I still need to change out the vid card and test again. I did find and run the Dell diagnostics and it also ran clean. I am still stumped.

The error spybot displays means your windows security center settings are not the default settings. It can be ignored.
Check you event log for recent errors. Open the event viewer (start > run, type eventvwr.msc, enter). Now look for errors in the System section with source 'System Error'. Open the properties of the error and click the copy button. Paste here.

It may also be possible a rootkit found its way into your computer. Run Sophos Anti-Rootkit and this M$ kb article.

Hey I wanted to follow up on this thread. I installed a different vid card and still got the blue screen. I downloaded the sophos anti-rootkit and I received a blue screen when it did the registry scan. The WMI service was messed up and I followed the Microsoft tid to correct that issue, deleting the directory and restarting which fixed that. The issue with the disk management snap in not found was never corrected and still exists.

I want to thank you for you help and time. I have put many hours into this box and currently it is running cleaner than it did before. The lob program runs now and I will make the necessary updates to the remote database, do a backup and re-format this system. I downloaded all the dell diagnostic progams and all the hardware and memory tests pass so, as much as I like to troubleshoot this problem I need to move foward. Thank you again,
    Regards,
