Pagefile error message at bootup

Computer runs fine after I click OK at the message at bootup,
"Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small"
I have been trying to stop this message from comming up for weeks.

Tryed putting pagefile on a different HD.
Changed it to many different size. (set at 1536-1536 now).
Did the Registry check.
Did the Resolution for this problem from MS Article ID315270.
Ran Recovery Console cakdsk /r
Ran system file checker.

Still getting the message on boot.
Cannot find pagefile.sys in my system. (see all files enabled)

Any one got an idea or something I have not tried? I tryed to list what I have.

firstly Welcome to major geeks

have you recently upgraded to xp if so try this
it is usally advisable to let windows set up your page file ( 1.5 times the physical ram you have installed)

I just converted from 98 to xp pro, the first part of the month, clean install.
It was set but when I tryed to move it to D\ is when I started getting the message.
It is set now at 3 times the ram.
The link was about the intel conflict. I have an AMD.

All my stats are my signature, which did not show in my post, which I do not know why, I had checked the box to include it in my post?
Also I did not get mail notification that you had replyed to my post??

I tryed that a couple times. Now I am just trying to get it to work on C\. and not have the message at bootup.
I shows that it is set for 1536-1536, but I get the message.
