I have a new printer -- HP Officejet 5510 all-in-one. I'm running Windows XP, Service Pack 2 on a Dell Dimension, a Pentium 4 with 512 Mb memory. The printer is connected via USB. It's slow. Painfully slow. Maybe 2 minutes to print one page of ordinary Word text. Pictures are impossible. I'm using the driver that came with the printer. I can't find any driver updates. When I send a page to the printer, it (the printer) makes "hardware" sounds like it's alligning every moving part. But to start printing? Takes forever. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Does the printer require usb 2.0?
Is your computer maybe usb 1?
If so, that can make a difference.

I hate to sound dumb, but if the shoe fits....

How do I tell if the computer is USB 1 and the printer is USB 2?
