Painting the livingroom

My wife and I are pinting our living room today - just finished a bit ago.

When I was in High School I worked for a housepainter during the summers and some weekends during the school year ( mainly exterior painting, but some interior work). It was the most mind numbing job I ever had, and I swore I would never paint anything again.
Actually it turned out to be kind of fun. My wife realized that I actually knew what I was doing and was impressed with my organization and neatness, and she asked me to show her how to do some things ( like not getting paint all over yourself and the floor, not rolling too fast and causing a spray of fine paint to land all over everywhere, the best way to paint corners and around baseboards, how to putty textured walls and make to patch look textured.

Did'nt realize that I had actually learned that much, but she was impressed. Guess it surprised her that a guy with 10 thumbs could do something well!

My son, however, suddenly realized he had some homework he had forgotten to do, and promptly disappeared

Hey -- we just finished painting the living room today too -- but we've been working on it since Friday (no - it's not that it's a large room). Actually, we didn't paint any on Saturday and today was just finishing up a second coat around some trim work.

Now to move furniture back

 

It is kind of cool looking...but I have to say...the room as a whole, reminds me of something out of beetlejuice...with all the angles and such I guess!!??

And you would think...with all the money they spent...they would get a universal remote to get rid of all those remotes under the coffee table!!!!
