    Windows 10/Edge.
Purchased new monitor and the text across the headers and favourites is quite thin and greyish when on the internet.
Images, documents and this page is perfectly clear but not as black as before.
There used to be a setting to adjust in previous Windows to intensify text ....is it available in Windows 10?

Have raised a note with the manufacturers but thought I would try this first.
Have followed their initial instructions to set all to default settings with no result.

    Hi

If you min the internet window and drag it down the screen a bit is the text better and darker/clearer?
How is the text at mid/bottom of screen?
If opening say any application e.g. Office Word/Powerpoint etc or any app thats not internet based are they greyish too?

If they are the monitor I would say needs exchanging, especially if you try another monitor in its place (borrow one off friend or if you have spare) and the headers are OK.

    Thanks for your comments David.
    Other monitors...no problem.
Area of monitor affected ...all over the same.
When opening Docs or Pictures they are all consistent but a little light.
    Will pursue the manufacturers.
Have two very similar PCs, in use daily, so all based on that and the fact that the new monitor threw up the difference.

I'm guesstimating this was done on the monitor itself.
Also have a look at the Graphics Properties in Windows and select the defaults if possible.
A last resort would be to update the Display driver driver from Device Manager.

    No change unfortunately!
Changed the Windows settings, updated the graphics driver, then returned to my 2017 version which is OK.
Played with the monitors built in settings.
When I installed the monitor it had an HDMI connection which I used instead of the old VGA connection....I did reconnect with the VGA cable just to check it wasn't an HDMI problem.

Will see if I can accept the text, if not I'll go for an exchange.

Will try and add an image later to show the actual text...hopefully!

    Thanks in the meantime.

    Yes, that text is fine.
I would exchange the monitor. And do tell the salesperson what you have tried so they don't waste your time.
    Keep us posted.

I did in fact change the monitor for another make this morning...Samsung to HP (Currys UK, choice instore is very restricted but OK after checking internet reviews of the HP available).
However the new one is not much better so I will put the problem down to age and my eyes by 50%;).
