Palemoon Is Not Playing My Netflix Now

but I have had Palemoon for months, over a year I'm sure, and have always watched my Netflix on it.

Netflix says it doesn't support Palemoon, but like I said, it worked on it until this a.m.?

Anyone have this experience, or helpful advice? I love Palemoon, and it was recommended to me by someone here on MG. It works great for me, until this a.m. w/Netflix. When I click on a show to stream, I get this page:

instead of the show. My Palemoon is the latest version, 26.0.0 (x64) and my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7132, 64 bit.

 

There's a workaround that involves creating a new setting in about:config specifically for Netflix (how's your Spanish?).

Moonchild is planning on releasing Pale Moon 26.0.1 soon, a few days maybe, minor fixes/workarounds like this one should be rolled up in that version.

 

Thanks Satrow, I love my Palemoon, and Netflix CS rep. basically told me their only advice was to use another browser, or try reinstalling Palemoon. My Spanish is limited to "si" and "amigos" . I think I've updated twice in the last month, the last one being PM 25 so they must be busy. I can wait a bit, and until then, I can run Firefox, after I reinstall it. She said netflix still works with FF. I'd like to do the "workaround" but if it's in spanish, no way could I

Try this.

In a new tab, type in about:config and promise to be careful/sell your first born to fund a tree plantation or whatever it is now and then type the following into the Search bar at the top of the page: general.useragent.override

Scroll down the results and find: general.useragent.override.netflix.com

Double-click it and you'll get a Modify popup box with the 'old' override, change only the following sections (the actual lines you have are likely to be slightly different to mine):
(Old) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.7) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.9 PaleMoon/25.7
(New) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:31.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.9 (Delete the PaleMoon section)

You can copy paste the contents of the Modify popup into Notepad, if it makes it easier for you

Great work! I was due to visit another PC so I probably rushed the info, glad you could get it to happen

 

I'm familiar with that about:config, since someone helped me when I couldn't get my URL default search back to Google I wouldn't have known to go there for this situation though, so thanks again

Now my Gmail has a message across the top saying that Firefox (which I am using Palemoon 26) is no longer supported and I need to update to a browser that is. If anyone knows if Satrow's fix for Netflix is similar to what might fix this issue, I would love to know.

Or if anyone knows another way, something new for the Gmail vs Palemoon 26 lack of compatibility. The message says that if it's not updated, my gmail will cease to function in it's "full capacity" something like that. I'll go grab a snip of the message:

 

Just click on Dismiss, that's all I do, Gmail still works fine for me.

There's probably a similar workaround for it but I've not bumped into it yet. I'll keep an eye open for it and pass it on when I do.

 

Yes, been doing the "dismiss" thing, but hoping for a perm. fix. Thanks, I would appreciate knowing if you find something. I'll do the same in case I stumble across one

 

I think it is the user agent info, in about:config. I don't know what to type in though, in the new string. So I'll wait for someone to maybe answer here
