Palm OS Software??

Not sure if this is the spot to post this question.

I am trying to find a very good program for what I need which will have both a desktop version running on Windows XP and a PDA version to run on my Palm Tungsten E2.

Is this beyond the scope of this forum, or ok to ask this here?

Looking for a contact management, calendar, task, and money tracking program -- (I realize the money tracker will be a separate program).
I have found this to be a far more challenging quest than I thought it would be.

 

My wife has used a Palm device of various kinds for several years. Her most recent model came with the applications you listed (if I am understanding you correctly). This is a list of the files that are included when she syncs:

This list seems to include the apps about which you are asking. If you don't have a recent disk, try Palm.com support and see if they have the same available for download for your model.

NEW problem. Now I can't get the hotsync program installed. Keep getting error message stating that there is a problem with Windows\installer\palmone.msi

Any ideas?

 

What source are you using for the installation? Download from Palm.com? Install CD?
Try the other one that you are not using. My wife's disk had extra applications on it which gave her the money management app, but I guess the same might be available from Palm.com.
If you continue to have installation errors, try deleting your temporary files with something like CCleaner (available here on MajorGeeks.com) and you might also use it to clean up the registry. Then start your installation again. If you are downloading from Palm.com, after cleaning the temp files and the registry, download it again (to get a clean a clean copy) and choose to save it instead of run it. Hang on to the downloaded copy until you know everything is as you want it.
If you continue to have instalation problems with it, I would try Palm Support.
