Palm

Got a problem and I don't think there's going to be a solution cry) because technology moves forward so quickly.

I have a PDA: Palm Z22. It works fine and I have used it for a number of years. It serves me well and I like it.

I have just changed my PC and am now running Windows 7 (64 bit). Associated with my PDA is a desktop application called Palm Desktop. Palm's website says it is compatible with Windows 7. I've downloaded Palm Desktop and it installed OK. Then I tried to run a sync with the software and my device. I plugged the device in to a USB port but I get a message saying that my USB device is not recognised.

I just don't know how to go about solving this problem.:confused

P.S. I tried asking Palm for help but they said they no longer support this device.

You might have better luck installing it via "Run as administrator" by right-clicking on the installer. Or from Safe Mode.

Had the same issue with my older palm think it was a zire 72, but bluetooth worked great.

I quickly got the following information from the BrightHand forum where I have been a member since my Zire71 days

The only sync support for Win7 is to the Palm Desktop version 6
For 64 bit it is only supported through BlueTooth and wifi and the Z22 has neither

But..... have a look at this thread where an IR Dongle is used
Read all the thread because it works then it doesn't but this might just be the driver and you might be able to see a solution in there.
