I got an error message that my Radeon 6310 Driver (or Drivers), was 'slowing things down' (New Asus Net-book running WIN7 Home Prem, so, at/on the prompt of this more specific message:

    "Update Drivers for AMD Multi-vendor
    Advanced Micro Devices Inc
    File-name: atikmpag"

I visited AMD and went to > Support>Downloads+Drivers+Update (something to that effect?), and attempted to track-down exact-specifics of my system (to little/no avail), so I did the ""Auto-Detect-install" deal which provided this:

"11-10_vista64_WIN7_64_dd_ccc_oxl.exe" - and yet I still get the error.

    Any suggestions; please?

*Note to all* - I apologize for the title/subject line here...not remembering now just exactly what that was supposed to be (reference to "AMD" CPU and Radeon Graphics I suppose...?).

    In any event . . .

gloozit ~ Thank you ... I just happen to have both progs currently (and "yes", of course I "want some help"), though I am ever-so-slightly more familiar with Speecy so I'll put that up...

    Thank you again very much.

falconattack, thank you as well...I have to tell ya though, I've had so much trouble as of late (new machine/system/etc.), and some other, personal stuff, I believe I best hold off, at least temporarily.

I am EXTREMELY tempted to jump all over your link, I feel it best (for me - for now) to simply take a peek at it for now, and hold-off until I either get some support with it, or run out of alternatives...again though, thank you very much - I really do appreciate your time and effort - it's goo to know it's here if I should need it, and just nice to know people offer help...and Hope!

    Cheers~!~

    Re: AMD-Radeon Driver Afoul?

    Didn't make it before edit-time expired . . .

So, what are we looking for here, please? So as I may narrow-it-down to a certain, specific Speccy (or Everest?) screen-shot, please?

Noted in one of your posts in another thread, you have CCC on start up. This is Catalyst Control Center, an AMD tool. Right click on your desktop and you should find it on the displayed list. If not, look for it in the all programs list. Run it. Click on Information Center in the Graphics Settings list. The 2nd item there will be your version, i.e. yr-mo. Then click on Welcome in the Settings list and click the check for driver updates link. This will take you to an AMD page with complete instruction to get and replace your driver.

Hope I was right and you have CCC ... Good Luck:wave

Thank you very much...though I didn't find CCC anywhere, I did find "AMD Driver AutoDetect v1.0.2.0 (from Advanced Micro Devices Inc.) in my Downloads (listed as "amddriverdownloader").

Is this the same as "CCC", please?

I ran it and was informed that I have the latest driver available, however, then this (screen-shot attached) popped-up...?

    Very confusing, don't you think?

    Thanks again and in advance,
    glenn

No, AMD Driver AutoDetect is not CCC (Catalyst Control Center)

Just go to the following AMD page:

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx?src=CCC-CheckForDriverUpdates

Play the instructional audio - videos on the page ... short, but very explanatory.

Since, Auto Detect says you have the latest driver, you might still want to follow their procedures, identify thru reinstall, to see if it clears up the error, reported in your first post, this thread.

    Hope this helps:):wave
