Panasonic DV Camcorder Driver Issues

Hello,

Im trying to upload video from my Panasonic PV-GS14 Camcorder to my Sony Vaio VGC-RB30 Desktop with windows XP. Im using a firewire connection and when i plug it in my computer reads it as a Panasonic DV Camcorder however it gives me an error saying; Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).

This problem has been frustrating me for some days now. Ive tried windows update several times... Ive uninstalled the driver, scanned for new hardware and still the same problem. I tried using my laptop to do it instead, but i have vista loaded on that and apparently panasonic doesnt support windows Vista.
Someone please help....
