Panda and Thunderbird...anyone else notice this?

I'm running Panda antivirus and firewall on my computer. I also run Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client. When I first started using Panda, it would never catch the embedded viruses as the emails were being downloaded onto my computer (the way Avast! does). I would always have to run a customized "email scan" from the Panda UI. This was especially annoying a couple of weeks ago when I was getting swamped by Netsky variations (anyone else suffer through that?).

Anyhoo, a couple days ago, as a message I knew contained a virus was downloading into one of my group email accounts, Panda popped up a window saying that it caught the virus and neutralized it. A little on the sceptical side and after deleting the message, I ran the custom scan and no viruses appeared. Since then, Panda has caught all the virus laden emails that have come to this account.

I'm still a little sceptical in that it's only the one account that has received virus emails lately. None of my other accounts (especially the one that was swamped a couple of weeks back) have received any virus mails...which is a good thing, but I'd like to see if this new Panda thing isn't a fluke.

So, anyone else having this experience? Did Panda update itself to include a filtering program for Thunderbird?

When I evaluated Panda (Platinum 7) a few weeks ago it only supported Outlook and OE, IIRC. I did have a similar experience as you with OE in that one netsky email got through right after I installed it, after that Panda caught everything that came along.
