Panda Platinum Firewall Issue

This is my first time visiting the forums and is mainly out of desperation.

I use Panda Antivirus and Firewall (platinum 7.0) on my PC at home. I just got my step-dad to install the program on his PC that we just built and we ran into an issue with the firewall side.

The firewall is blocking access to certain programs. I've noticed it specifically blocking access to it's counterpart antivirus updating and both Internet Explorer and Mozilla.

I know this is the firewall causing it because disabling it allows access to said programs. The configured firewall settings are set to allow access to the above mentioned programs that it appears to be blocking somehow. It isn't blocking everything though. I'm able to do ping tests out via cmd prompt with the firewall active.

Things I have tried include looking for a MASIP32.exe (I believe that was the name of the file) mentioned in the Panda software knowledgebase, which doesn't seem to exist on the PC (running Win2000Pro, same version I run on my PC at home and I have no issues at my place with the firewall). I've reinstalled the program I believe 5 times now and that includes having redownloaded it two different places (one redownload of the original install packaged with Iolo's system mechanic, the other downloading it by itself via the update link on Panda software's website).

I've run various spyware scanners and housecall antivirus scanner, not to mention this is a fresh install as we just built the PC last night.

I'm stumped as to what else it could be. Any assistance would be nice, thanks!
