    >>David - Please excuse the interruption but I found a relevant word.
I noticed "panther" here. I found a bluish 'panther' entry in my windows directory. Is it a safe accumulation of windows 8.1 information or otherwise?
    Thank you
    Peter

    Hi Peter

Move this question to a new thread as its possibly nothing to do with the other thread question.

Now the colour of the text is blue? as it will signify a compressed file and the other colours of note in Windows file structure are below:

    Black - Uncompressed
    Blue - Compressed
    Green - Encrypted

Exactly where is this file located, if you can copy the address bar text from the specific Windows folder that file is in would be good (eg. C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 etc), and would it be this one C:\Windows\Panther .... If so I have the same as will others and by the looks of it its an installer file from Windows, very likely the original installer kit. Similar to these references HERE

Not going to cause you any issues, and maybe needed at a later date for updates, service packs etc

    Hi David
I thought a panther was a panther but I am sorry for the inappropriate interruption. Thank you or the link as it clarified the issue.
    Regards,
    Peter

Hi Peter they are same creature, but in computing you can name your files anything and the other one was a webcam driver.

Good stuff on the link helping to clarify this for you :)

You too Peter and great chatting as always.

Slightly off convo but I also tend to save some comments and fixes and things like locations to files and folders, especially if I was not aware of them in the past in a Word or Notepad doc, for later retrieval for same questions.

Yes sir. As long as you categorize and can put your finger on what you are searching for, your time is well spent.

Not always the case, Peter. Need a spreadsheet or database at some point to catalogue the typed up docs.

You are in deeper waters than I am, but I get your point.
Control /F on a particular page in Word was a better invention than the wheel for a quick reference. Shifting gears to Outlook.com.
