I've had the same exact problem, so far no one has been able to help. Circumstances are pretty similar too (audio/video files), check out the following threads.

There may be a way around, I'm not familar with your camcorder. Can you map the camcorders drive as a network or local drive?

BTW, you need to give other information, such as the computers operating system, CPU, speed, etc.

If you can map the remote hard drive as a local drive on your computer then it can be moved in DOS, which how I solved my problem.

First, map the drive. Let's call it F:\ (it can be any letter, unimportant). If you have no clue what I'm talking about then tell me, and we'll get into that later.

Then drop into the DOS prompt on your computer, no need to totally exit Windows. You will find a MSDOS option in your programs on the start menu.

Inside the DOS prompt, call up the directory of the remote drive to find out it's file name.

    DIR F:\ /w

Then just copy the file like so:

    COPY F:\movie.avi c:\TEMP\*.*

Of course, all of this is contingent upon being able to access the camcorder drive as a networked or local drive on your computer. If it works it can take a long time, as in over 30 minutes. The hard drive LED will tell you if it is working or not.

Personally I would like to find a real fix for the problem, but at the moment I'm stumped. I suspect it is a core problem with Win98, but not DOS. Any attempt to move my 3.2 Gig files with anything under Windows has returned with the error, including the CD/DVD burner. I tried transfering the MP2 file to a DVD disc. One exception to this, convertion to a DVD file, and subsequent transfer of the .iso file (DVD format) with my Roxio burning software to a DVD disc worked.

What is the operating system of your sisters computer and yours. That could be the difference.
