Partion a harddrive

I just rebuilt a older computer and loaded XP on a harddrive that is partioned
in Two partions but now I want change it to One partion. Can I do this without reloading my Operating System?

Yes. I'm pretty sure that Easeus Partition Manager can do it (see screen shot below; first delete the partition you want to remove, then use "Resize" to stretch the main partition) but read the help guide BEFORE starting or go to their web site to make sure you can safely do this. If not, I know for sure you can do it with BootIT. The download will create an ISO image file which you would burn to a CD. Then erase the 2nd partition, boot to the BootIT CD and use "Maintenance Mode"; you'll get a question when booting to the CD "do you want to install to the HD" and you'll say "No" and BootIT will say "entering Maintenance Mode"; then select "Partition Work" and then select "Resize Partition" and enter the maximum allowed size. The program will perform some error checking, then will resize the partition w/o any data loss. I know it works fine 'cuz I've done it dozens of times and NEVER had any problems. The larger the drive, and the more data that is on the drive, the longer the process takes. So if you have a 120gb partition with 90gb of data, it may take up to 20-30 minutes.

 

The Partition Manager worked wonders.
