    Hi
my hard drive is partioned 50/50. so I have drives c and d
now my laptop is slowing down a little and I noticed that 50% of c drive is used and virtually nothing in d

I want to transfer music pictures and documents to my d drive and be able to access them easily. so like when i open up my pictures i want to see pictures stored on d drive same for music etc. I reckon this will help speed up my c drive.

whenever i have moved music to d drive software like media player etc does not find it. what shall i do

    i hope i explained clearly

sorry couldnt find any other thread that focused on this particular issue i have

laptop stats if it helps is
    100GB HDD
    1GB DDR
    ACER

    Thanks in advance

The only way your computer would slow down due to a hard drive is if:
    1) It's dying
    2) It is fragmented
    3) You are out of space completely (less than 1 Gig)

As for your problem, you should be able to change the location of your "My Documents" folder by right clicking on it in the start menu and choosing "properties". There should be a locations tab where you can set the location.

I am not sure if you have to set up a new "My Documents" location and then transfer the files or if Windows will transfer your files for you.
