Hey everybody. First off, I just wanna say thanks for the help You guys have given me a lot of help so far. It helped me get linux on an older computer.

This, however, is about that computer. It only has one 40gb HD, with no extra partitions; just one for the OS and everything else. I decided that I want to get XP Pro on it, because I am more familiar with Mac and MS.

I pop in the CD, and get through the setup until it asks me to choose a partition to install XP on. It says that the selected partition is not XP compatible, and to go back and choose another. I go back and delete all partitions, create a brand new one, and format it, but no luck. Can you guys help me out?

Oh, and I don't have a Win 98/Me floppy or cd; and i can't get one either. All I have is that one XP Pro cd.

Yes, I meet the minimum system requirements.

However, the Disk Managing Utility is only for if you have XP installed and running.

My computer is an empty shell, and I don't have any operating system on it. It would be ideal if I could get XP Pro on there.

no, no killdisk. It is only a computer without a HD, and it wont install XP Pro. Do you think KillDisk will help it? I dont care about any files on the HD
