partition question

well i started a fresh topic because i dont this problem http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=171241 is going to be an easy fix.

So anyway since i do use music alot on this comp and having to redo my playlis would take a very long time.

Anyway im getting this comp which is partitioned into (C,D,E,F,G) to just a C drive , is it possible to put whatever is in D and E into the other drives in terms of there content and then removing those drives and putting the space they contain into the others so that the computer will end up with (C,F,G). But i need to know if this is possible while keeping the contents of C,F,G undeleted and the exact same as when it was originaly.

 

You'd need some kind of disk management program like Partition Magic to combine/resize partitions w/o destroying data.

 

thanks , i will look into that meanwhile i think i find a solution to my problem which i wil post on the other thread for anyone that wants to know

 

You will need a partition manager like doug proposed. You will have to back up any files you need from D&E partitions to a blank CD or other backup device. Then you can use a program like Partition Magic, Easeus Partition 2.0 or similiar and then delete D&E after you copy your files. Then you will need to resize Drive C:\ to its maximum which is the total size of your hard drive. If your playlist and such are on Drive C:\ then you will still have them.
