I bought a Seagate 500gb hd (sata) to test the Win7 beta. After having it installed (W7) for a week, for reasons I won't get into, I decided to install XP. During XP install I noticed that there was 3 partitioned spaces from the Win7 install. 200mb(ntfs), 476gb(ntfs) and 1922mb(mbr). I want just 1 partition. Can I delete them and create just 1 and will the mbr be created during the XP install when I create the new partition? The XP cd is bootable and has a partition and formating utility. The last time I partitioned and formated a hd I used fdisk utility on a floppy. That was more than a few years back. Can I safely delete those and start from scratch or what would be the best way to do this?

    Thanks for any input.
