I recently had to re-install Windows XP. I bought a new 160G hard drive to do the fresh install. Windows asked if I want to partition the drive and I did to 40G, so I should have 120G on the D drive but I don't see it? My BIOS sees my hard drive as a 160G! Do I have to go back and format the other partition using my Windows disk?

you have to create a partition for windows to notice the drive.
go back to the place you created the first partition (windows install) and create the other partition on the unallocated space. Just dont install windows on that partition... unless you want too :p

You can partition the space using the Disk Manager. Go to: Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc and hit enter. You should see the unallocated space there. I don't remember for sure but I think you need to right click on the unallocated space and create the partition then format it.
