Is there a free program that will allow me to create a partition on my hard drive without reformatting it?

btw how are your hard disk(s) partitioned at the moment and what are you aiming to get to?

 

My hard drive is not partitioned at all. I wish to partition off about 10Gbs of space for Adobe PhotoShop to use. This works well for Adobe and frees up my system RAM for other things. I forgot to create the new partition when I reformatted.

 

If you are using XP you can create the new partition in Disk Management.

I have no experience of Adobe PS but I can't see how the partition structure will affect how the RAM is used.

 

I also can recommend a free disk tool like Ranish Partition Manager

 

If you want to do it without formatting you will need something like partition magic. A search will find it easy enough.

Heh, why would you be more trusting when money is involved? Its completely unfair to say that because you don't pay for it, its not worth it. There are literally hundreds of examples where a free program does a better job than a pay-for program, and more importantly, its what the user asked for.
