I jsut installed Ubuntu on a live CD to test it out. I have decided to go ahead and install it fully. I have to partition my hard drive first, but I was reading and it seems that alot of people wipe thier hard dirve before they do this. Is this necessary? Or can I partition the drive without wiping any of my information?

You can partition without wiping. Its personal choice, imo.
