A friend of mine has a Dell Latitude C400. When I try to boot up the PC it states that it is protected by a password authentication system?
Is this a BIOS password? I tried to go into BIOS but it still comes up and ask for this password. Has anyone seen this before or know how to get pass this.

    Thanks

If you don't know the BIOS password it is impossible to bypass it.
Most everyone can set up a password to the bios. I guess some people are paranoid people will mess with their system.

You can remove a BIOS password simply by removing the CMOS battery. However that may or may not be practical on that particular machine. You might find THIS helpful.

Yup. I was editing my post and restarted my computer. Forgot to complete the post.

Removing the CMOS is the simplest way.
