    Hi oleandro,

Regarding lost or forgotten passwords for Hotmail / MSN email, as far as I know; the following four steps are the only options available to change your password if you forget what it is.

    (1) Go to http://www.hotmail.com and enter your msn email address and then enter anything for your password. After entering the wrong password you will be taken to another page with the option of changing your password to something new.
    (2) You will have to enter some information to identify yourself such as state and zip code.
    (3) You will then have to provide the answer for your secret question.
    (4) Then you will be allowed to reset your password.

Unfortunately whenever you're using a free email service such as Hotmail, and you forget or lose both your password and the answer to your secret question; you are basically up the creek without a paddle because there is no customer support offered by any of the "freebie" email services to help you regarding such matters as lost passwords.

When email users are paying for their account and they're having problems with it, they could always try contacting whatever the customer support number is for that service. However since you say that you've lost your password and you don't remember your secret question, and you did not have your password saved to your computer and your free hotmail account service has no customer support - you're done. The only thing you can do here is to create a new account somewhere, and hopefully learn from this experience.

    Good Luck!

Most (if not all) email providers will have you answer a secret security question during the sign up process just for situations like this. It's usually something like "What is the name of your first pet?" or maybe "What was you high school mascot?"... you get the idea. As Compuable pointed out earlier, you should be able to go thru the steps at HotMail to reset a lost or forgotten password. Good luck!
