We want to run spybot in safemode, but it keeps asking for an administrator password that was never set.

We logged into Windows XP Pro (not safemode) and created a password on the named account (not admin, there was no admin, just my son's account and his wife's account - assuming my son WAS the admin) to no avail. it wont take that password.

    what do we do
Windows obviously thinks there's an admin password

    thank you

    :confused

Did you try leaving the password blank for the Administrator account and just hitting <enter>?

XP Pro has an admin account, though you will not see it on the log in screen.
What happens when you hit ctrl + alt + del at login?
