password not known

    my daughter bought a gateway laptop its running vista but thr login screen has a password and she cant get ahold of the seller for 3 days now is there a way to get around this and change it.

    even when i try to boot it into safe mode it ,goes but then sends me back to the login screen.

    Generally we can't help with password bypassing, though those of nefarious intent usually don't need our advice. Try a bit of googling, but make sure your AV and antimalware are active and updated.
