Password PHP OR HTML

    Ok i have a link on my website that I want only me to be able to access it so I want it to be password protected. How would i do this.

    Is it possible to make a prompt like that pop up?

    There are tons of ways to do a login script. The web servers themselves offer ways of password protecting dirs. The window that popped up when you go to that link is part of the webserver itself. You'd need direct access to the webserver to make that. Or if it's a linux server you'd need to be able to make or edit the htaccess file.

    If you don't have access to do that you'd have to make a script to handle it. A simple login script is easy enough to write, and there are tons of free ones to download if you don't know hwo to write one yourself. Just do a search for login script and the language (in your case PHP) in google and it will spit out a few.

    It is considered better to use the server if at all possible. All you have to do is put all the files you want into a subdir and then password protect the dir.
