password protect folders on XP

I want to password protect certain folders on my PC and external hard drives. Do you guys know of a free application that will do this?
I am using XP home. I know I can create another user but thats not an option.

These are all good but unfortunatlly they cost for the full version.

I read on one of these forums a while back about a freeware application that did all this and was free, but I cant seem to find it now or was that just a dream??

If you are trying to protect more than 2-4 folders (not sure if that is per drive, or total), then you may have to buy the program. Sorry, but I think that is the way it is. If anyone knows of a free program that will protect more than 4 folders, please reply to this post. Bazza

One option Cryptainer

or Lockdisk which does similar to the above and creates virtual drives to lock away your data opposed to folders.

if I come across a folder password app I will post it, but the one I was going to post was most likely the one in that thread linked above FolderLock which only does 4 folders.
