I have a HP PAVILION g6 laptop that died. It was password protected. When hooking it up to another computer do I have to change ownership to access the files since I know the password? If I do, can someone link me to the direction/video how to do this on a machine that's running 8.1.

Never mind...I started checking out the options. When I clicked on my user account I was given two options one said something about permissions the other said continue?... I chose the latter and can now access all my files.
